The price level to which the current tariffs for gas and electricity can jump is already known, although such decisions are still under discussion.. Oleksiy Kucherenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Energy, Housing and Communal Services, told about this.

"

According to him, several options are being discussed regarding electricity prices..

" And for those who consume up to 100 kW per month - in general, the market price is about UAH 6-7 per kilowatt hour,"

Gas prices may rise more significantly.

" I hope that they will not immediately dump these 16 UAH on the population, first on the heat communal. And then it will be a problem for mayors of cities - to get a gas price of 16 UAH and recalculate the tariff for heat. And if the gas is increased, but the tariffs are not, then the mayors of the cities should find a source somewhere to cover it,"

According to him, after raising gas tariffs, the heat tariff should increase at least 2.5-3 times..

" There is a price to be paid for energy integration. And this price will be - a full-fledged gas market, a full-fledged electricity market,"

As for water tariffs, according to the deputy, the increase could be about 30%..

“We are already discussing an increase in water tariffs in the near future.. It is not so cardinal, but in two stages. And it's about a third. I don’t know if this is a lot or a little, as the head of the Kyiv water canal, Dmitry Novitsky, says, according to his estimates, this is about 80-100 hryvnias per household,” Kucherenko said..

At the same time, he stressed that since 2014, tariffs in Ukraine have already increased significantly. But this did not affect either the quality of services or the abuses in the respective markets..

" On the other hand, I will always have counterarguments: what have you done over the past 8 years, because the tariff has been growing 7-8 times since 2014. What has changed? Water quality? Losses, thefts on the network? Maybe the share of electricity has decreased? Because nothing is being done. The same schematosis, certain people also earn. Approximately the same situation in every city. For state regulation and control are only on paper, I absolutely do not believe in effective regulation by the NEURC, because they themselves are with the water utilities, they are not with us,"

Recall that at present, for individual household consumers, the tariff for electricity is:.

UAH 1.44 per kilowatt-hour with consumption up to 250 kilowatt-hours per month;

UAH 1.68 - if more than 250 kilowatt-hours per month.

These rates will be valid until March 31, 2023.

The NEURC last reviewed water tariffs before the large-scale war with the Russian Federation, in December 2021. Now NEURC is preparing a two-stage increase in tariffs for water and sewerage: from April 1 and July 1.

As for market fluctuations in the price of gas and heat, Ukrainians are protected from them by a moratorium for the period of martial law (bill No. 7427).

The ban on price hikes applies in particular to:.

gas distribution services;

thermal energy - its production, transportation and supply;

thermal energy and hot water supply services.

Today, about 98% of household gas consumers are customers of the Gas Supply Company " They receive gas at a guaranteed price of UAH 7.96. per cubic meter.
