President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky approved the appointment of ambassadors to Nigeria and Argentina. The relevant decrees No. 888/2022 and No. 889/2022 are posted on the official website of the head of state.

Ivan Kholostenko, previously the head of the Consulate of Ukraine in Czech Brno, became the new Ambassador of Ukraine to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Yuriy Klymenko became the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Argentine Republic.

Before that, the president dismissed Yuriy Klymenko from the duties of the Special Representative of Ukraine for the Transnistrian settlement.

Recall that on Friday, December 23, the President dismissed the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Bulgaria and Latvia, appointing new diplomats to their positions.

The candidacy of Ambassador to Bulgaria Olesya Ilashchuk caused discussions in society due to her lack of diplomatic experience and the fact that until now she has positioned herself as a specialist in sexology and precious jewelry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the claims on the candidacy of Ilashchuk, noting that the appointment of non-professional diplomats to the post of ambassadors is a common international practice.
