If a citizen of Ukraine has reached retirement age, has at least 29 years of service and an assigned pension for long service, but wants to receive a larger amount of payments, he needs to apply to the territorial department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine for an age pension.

According to the lawyer, when applying to the PFU with a corresponding application, a pensioner may face an incorrect calculation of the old-age pension.

PFC employees may incorrectly calculate the retirement pension if one of the pension indicators is incorrectly used in the calculations - the average salary in Ukraine, from which insurance premiums are paid, for the three calendar years preceding the year of applying for the appointment of the relevant payments.

This average salary is determined by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, so it does not depend on the amount of salary that the pensioner received at work.
