Russian troops are trying to move southeast of Izyum towards Slovyansk and have made some progress.

Reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

As they say, the Russians were probably trying to push Ukrainian forces away from the front line in the north-east of Kharkiv region and on June 12 shelled Ukrainian positions in and around Kharkiv.

Russian forces continued ground assaults in Severodonetsk and blew up bridges from the city, likely in an attempt to cut Ukrainian land routes from Bakhmut to Lysychansk and Severodonetsk.

Also, Russian troops are trying to surround Lisichansk, but they make mistakes and fail during the assault.. The enemy destroyed two bridges across the Seversky Donets, when they should have tried to capture them.

The Russians conducted unsuccessful assault operations in Vrubovka and Nikolaevka. According to ISW analysts, the Russians probably expect to be able to break through either in the Toshkovka area or from Popasnaya to the north, and then surround Lisichansk or attack it from the western bank of the Seversky Donets.

At the same time, another attempt by Russian troops to attack Toshkovka was unsuccessful..

The invaders destroyed two bridges across the Seversky Donets River between Severodonetsk and Lisichansk and are conducting a massive shelling of the third.

" They may be hoping to block the Ukrainian defenders in Severodonetsk, cutting off their escape route, but it seems unlikely that the benefit of capturing a relatively small number of UAF troops is higher than the cost of creating a river crossing..

The enemy also made unsuccessful attempts to advance to Dovgenkoe, Dolina and Mazanovka between Izyum and Slavyansk.
