The Ukrainian Football Association has disqualified Dynamo captain Serhiy Sidorchuk for three matches for a violation against Shakhtar Donetsk defender Viktor Kornienko in the Premier League round 9 match.
Shakhtar beat Dynamo 3-0, the match took place on November 8 in Kiev.
Sidorchuk in a prohibited tackle flew into the Pitmen's 21-year-old player and received a red card after watching the VAR match by the referee Yekaterina Monzul.
Kornienko was seriously injured as a result of a foul and was eliminated by the end of the year.
Violation of the rules by Sidorchuk was qualified as the use of excessive force with injury. Such a foul will result in a four-match suspension. However, the UAF took into account the explanation of the Kiev club regarding its player as a mitigating circumstance and suspended the Dynamo captain for three games plus one match conditionally.
Sidorchuk has already served one match of suspension, because he did not play in the 10th round against Ingulets. Sergei will not help Dynamo in the 11th round match against Vorskla (November 28) and the 12th round against Mariupol (November 5).
