Today, a video conference of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Anki Feldguzen with the head of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechetkin was held, during which Mrs. Ambassador handed over equipment to the State Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine for a total of 175,000 euros. All this equipment, Feldguzen noted, should help curb the spread of Covid-19 in Ukraine.
Ms. Ambassador also noted that Germany handed over to Ukraine vehicles that are used today throughout the country to inform Ukrainian citizens about the threats of the spread of the virus with powerful loudspeakers.
In turn, the chairman of the State Emergencies Service, referring to the German Ambassador, noted that in difficult times for Ukraine, Germany always came to the rescue one of the first.
Mykola Chechetkin recalled that at the beginning of the military aggression of the Russian Federation in the East of Ukraine and in the context of the illegal annexation of Crimea, the German Government provided substantial assistance to civilians and rescuers. At a time when thousands of people in the east were left homeless, the German side provided modular towns for the temporary residence of internally displaced persons from Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine was always the first to respond to emergency situations that occurred in our country: this is a fire at a tank farm near the city of Vasilkov, Kiev region; and shelling of the city of Avdeevka, Donetsk region, which led to de-energization and dehydration of the city, and explosions in military depots in Kalinovka near Vinnitsa and near the city of Ichnya, Chernihiv region, and the like.
\? important help for us, "
Anka Feldguzen emphasized: “I wish you and your brave women and men, who every day without any complaints go to the service of society, fulfill their tasks thanks to this equipment even better and safer. Rest assured, Germany will continue to actively support you in the future.!
