Flight of the airline "El Al", which was supposed to fly in the early morning from New York to Israel, was delayed for two hours due to a blizzard. This jeopardized the "sanctity of the Sabbath" - the landing time bordered on the onset of darkness.

On the plane, several dozen ultra-orthodoxes flew, raising a “riot on the ship” - right before the flight they began to crowd around the flight attendants, to demand to open the doors and return them back to the airport with their luggage, which was already technically impossible (in particular, due to with unloading of baggage).

Raging faith zealots were reassured and seated back for a long time, as a result of which the aircraft was delayed for another hour, Israel Channel 9 says.

Already during the flight, seeing that the case was leaning towards Saturday, the ultra-orthodoxes again raised the "gevalt", began to push the flight attendants and make their way to the cockpit. This time they managed to calm down with great difficulty.. The plane had to land in Athens in order not to break the Sabbath - there the ultra-Orthodox were given all the conditions for overnight stay and religious items, while the rest were taken to Ben-Gurion by an Israira plane that flew in from Israel..

Roni Meital, who was flying this flight, describes in Facebook an extremely unpleasant impression of the unrest created by aggressive ultra-Orthodox. "It began with the fact that they crowded around the staff, repeating" open the doors, otherwise we will not have time to shabbat ". Flight attendants tried to seat them, reassuring them that the plane would land half an hour before Saturday.. The captain said that because of the delay, “El-al” would organize a transportation, and those who live far away would be provided with an overnight stay in compliance with all religious norms.. Despite promises, the religious group continued to bully. Only after about an hour they managed to sit down, and the plane took off, "the passenger writes.

After a while, the story repeated: "After six hours of summer, I heard screams and saw a crying flight attendant - they raised a hand to her, they pushed her and threatened to break into the cabin. All because of the holiness of the Sabbath. I had to protect flight attendants and soothe crying shocked flight attendants. Obviously, the commandment about Sabbath observance prevails over the commandment to love your neighbor, "- says the girl.

This story caused a lively discussion on the Internet.. "It was necessary to detain them at the exit of the aircraft and that they would hold a Sabbath in the bullpen, as it would be in any normal country," said one commentator.
