The launch was postponed from February 17 first to February 18, and then to February 21 due to "the need for additional payload checks and its modified fairing".

On the eve of the launch did not take place because of the strong wind at altitudes.

The first stage of the missile for today's launch will be used again, its return and soft landing were not planned.

The start window was opened at 16:17, Kyiv time. The satellite cargo "sailed" from the carrier rocket 11 minutes after the launch.

Accelerator rocket B1038. 2 Block 3 will be used again: previously this first stage put into orbit in August 2017 the cargo of the Formosat-5 mission, the launch was also carried out from the SLC-4E site. This time, the soft landing of the accelerator is not planned - it will be drowned in the ocean.

Engineers will try to return the wings of the head fairing to the ground.

The most interesting part of the cargo is two satellites of 400 kg each (Microsat-2a and Microsat-2b), which are prototypes for the Starlink satellite constellation: the name of the planned SpaceX project for providing the globe with high-speed Internet. These satellites will reach an altitude of 1125 km, after which they will be used for testing the connection for half a year, and then burned in the atmosphere.
