Five teams of the English Premier League took the first two places in their groups of the Champions League 2017/18.

Immediately five of the 16 participants in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League represent the English Premier League.

The first places in their groups were occupied by Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham, and Chelsea moved on from second place.

Note that this is also the first case since the 2006/07 season, when four English teams finished first.

Recall that the draw of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League will be held on Monday, December 11.
