IBM announced plans to open by the end of 2017 "cloud" access to a quantum 20-kbit computer. Its practical application is still in question due to the existing technical limitations - a given quantum state can be kept no more than 90 microseconds. This is a record for the industry, but extremely few.

Also, IBM confirmed its intention to launch a quantum computer with a volume of 50 qubits. The company will continue work on the project, which in the future intends to commercialize. Quantum processors will solve problems that modern computers can not afford.

Experts consider quantum computing a promising direction, but requiring further research and development. One of the actual problems is the solution of the cooling problem, which is required for maintaining the stable state of qubits.
