The International Olympic Committee (IOC) for life suspended the Russian skiers Maxima Vylegzhanin, Alexei Petukhov, Yulia Ivanov and Yevgeny Shapovalov and canceled the results of their performance at the Winter Games in Sochi in 2014.
Athletes found guilty of violating anti-doping rules.
At the 2014 Games Vylegzhanin won three "silver": in the race for 50 km, the team sprint with the classical style (with Nikita Kryukov) and the relay 4-10 km.
Earlier, the results of two more Russian skiers Alexander Legkov and Yevgeny Belov were canceled. It should be noted that Legkov and Vylegzhanin appeared in the testimony of the ex-head of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov, who told the American media about the large-scale doping program in the Russian team before the Olympic Games in Sochi.
This information also served as the basis for the investigation of the independent commission of Richard McClaren at the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
