By analogy with the League of Nations of UEFA, FIFA can create its own tournament.

The International Football Federation is considering the possibility of creating a new tournament, which will be called the World League and will be called upon to eradicate friendly matches of national teams. This is reported this day.

The organization believes that recently the focus has shifted towards club football and friendly matches have become unpopular.

Recall that UEFA before the start of the selection for the Euro-2020 for the first time will host the League of Nations, a new tournament that will also replace friendly fights, and in addition give an opportunity to enter the Euro.

The creation of the League of Nations led to complaints from federations of countries such as Argentina and Brazil, which now can not hold lucrative matches against strong European teams.

The World League will be built according to the principle similar to the League of Nations (teams will be divided into several divisions), but national teams from all over the world will take part in it. Perhaps the new tournament will start already in 2019.
