At the same time, the transit has been increased to a record 315 million cubic meters per day this year. As the press service of the National Company Naftogaz of Ukraine informs, on Tuesday, September 12, Gazprom sent an application for gas transportation to Europe.

Over the past seven days, the daily application for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine increased by 47 million cubic meters. At the same time, the press service noted that the Ukrainian company is ready to ensure the implementation of the enlarged applications in full, although such significant fluctuations in the volumes of transit are not stipulated by the terms of the contract.

Naftogaz was also reminded that the maximum capacity of the Ukrainian gas transportation system in the direction of Europe is more than 400 million cubic meters per day.

The company also explained that such an application of Gazprom is associated with a halt for planned repairs of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. If last year the Nord Stream stopped for preventive maintenance for eight days, then this - by 11, - noted in the press service, adding that unlike the Nord Stream, preventive works on the Ukrainian GTS are conducted in working order and do not require termination transit.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, according to the press service, in January-August this year through the gas transportation system of Ukraine for European consumers received 61.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas, up 23.4% over the previous year and 45.6% more than in 2015.
