The Government of Ukraine, within the framework of implementation of the five key state reforms, starts pilot projects of the national program "New Ukrainian School" and leaves among the priorities investment in education and further increase in salaries of Ukrainian teachers. This was said by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman during a special conference call on preparations for the new academic year. The meeting was held in the Dnieper, where the Head of Government is on a working trip today, August 15.
"We are starting the program" New Ukrainian School ". Education for us is a priority. A person only once in his life can get a quality preschool and school education. And our task is to provide access to such education so that our young people will be competitive in later life, "the Head of Government said.. - In 2017, we also identified a 50% increase in teachers' salaries as a priority. We will support this direction, and in the 2018 budget it will be reflected. We must return to school teachers who, due to lack of funds, left at the proper time in search of a better share ".
The Prime Minister recalled that in the framework of achieving the set goals, the Government will facilitate work in several directions, namely: the continuation of the creation of supporting schools, which in Ukraine there are already more than 380, the purchase of school buses, the provision of educational needs in mountain and rural areas. Appropriate instructions have already been given to the relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Finance. Particular attention is paid to the provision of training conditions: from the repair of schools to the full completion of textbooks as early as September 1, "not in December", as well as addressing the issue of overloading schools and reducing the queue in pre-school educational institutions. The Head of Government expressed his confidence that the problem of queues in kindergartens can be solved in three years by joint efforts of the Government and local authorities, which, due to decentralization, have sufficient resources. "Thanks to decentralization, local budgets grew by 100 billion UAH," the Head of Government noted.. - I think we will take (governmental) decision and oblige local authorities to solve the problem (construction of gardens). Funds of budgets should work for small Ukrainians ".
Vladimir Groisman also noted that urban development should take into account social needs - gardens, schools and hospitals. "I would very much like to be heard on the ground," said Vladimir Groisman.
