Fairphone announced the completion of support for Fairphone 1, which was released in 2013 and was positioned as the only smartphone on the market, any detail that can be repaired or replaced. The developers of Fairphone underlined their social mission - they created a device that can be repaired until the necessary parts are available.

Fairphone 1 was released in several stages. The first shipment was carried out in late 2013, the second - in May 2014, and the last - in February 2015. Thus, the owners of this device had about 2-3 years to experience the concept of an eternal smartphone, which can be repaired at any time. In 2016, the manufacturer promised to release an update Android KitKat for Fairphone 1, but did not keep his promise. The development of this update was terminated due to inopportunity.

Fairphone has one more model - Fairphone 2. Spare parts for it are still produced.
