Esteban Granero became the fifth rookie Espanol this summer, joining Sergio Garcia, Diego Lopez, Pablo Piatti and Leo Baptistao. According to Marca, the 30-year-old midfielder signed a two-year contract with the club from the capital of Catalonia.

Despite the fact that the contract Granero with Real Sociedad expired only in the summer of next year, the Basques agreed to grant the player the status of a free agent.

Former midfielder Real moved to Real Sociedad in 2014 from Queens Park Rangers. Since then, Esteban has played 71 games in La Liga, but very rarely found himself in the starting lineup.
