The adoption of the law on pension reform is one of the prerequisites for obtaining the fifth tranche of the loan from the International Monetary Fund. This was reported to journalists by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danilyuk. "Yes. Adopt the law, "he said, answering the journalists' question whether the adoption of the law on pension reform is required to receive the next tranche from the IMF. At the same time, Danilyuk noted that the government expects to adopt the pension reform in June. According to the minister, the government hopes that the pension reform will be adopted by the parliament in a package with land reform and the law on privatization. As reported, the pension reform, developed by the government, involves a gradual increase in the length of service for retirement from 25 to 35 years. The Government of Ukraine within the framework of the pension reform plans to carry out an increase in pensions starting October 1 of this year, which, according to preliminary estimates, will affect 5.6 million Ukrainians, and to abolish the taxation of pensions for working pensioners. The government version of the pension reform does not provide for raising the retirement age, but offers other tools for building a fair and deficit-free pension system.
