Turkish government intends to extend the state of emergency for another three months. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmush, reports bbc.

The National Security Council recommended this step to the Cabinet of Ministers.

It is supposed that this will allow "to ensure the continuity of precautionary measures for the protection of the rule of law".

With the approval of Parliament, the regime will begin to operate from April 19, this day the previously declared state of emergency will expire.

The state of emergency was announced on July 20, 2016 after an unsuccessful military coup attempt.

Recall, on April 16 in Turkey held a referendum on constitutional reform. According to the state news agency Anadolu, its supporters with a minimal margin (51.4% versus 48.6%) won.
