The US State Department announced sanctions against eight companies of the Russian defense industry complex.

Sanctions were introduced for violation of the "Non-Proliferation Act" in relation to the DPRK, Syria and Iran.

Restrictions were introduced against the 150th Aircraft Repair Plant, the Aviaexport association, the Bazalt NGO, the Engineering Design Bureau in Kolomna, Rosoboronexport, the Ulyanovsk Civil Aviation Institute, the Ural Civil Aviation Training Center, the Zhukovsky Air Force Academy and Gagarin Air Force Academy.

"These sanctions are separated from the broader economic sanctions that have been introduced since 2014 as a result of the occupation and annexation of Crimea and aggression in the east of Ukraine," the State Department.
