Samsung last year promised to gradually introduce fingerprint scanners and support for Samsung Pay's payment service in more affordable smartphone models. At the moment the most affordable devices with the support of the latter are models of the Galaxy C family, but they are not represented in all markets.

We can assume that smartphones Galaxy J of the new generation will support payment service, but it is not yet known when they will appear. The source reports that the Korean giant quite unusually decided to check whether there is any sense in supporting Samsung Pay in inexpensive smartphones for buyers of those.

The company has released several batches of budget and medium-budget smartphones for the Indian market that support Samsung Pay, whereas initially these models do not have such support. That is, it's not even new modifications, but the same smartphones, but with additional functionality. Such devices are even deprived of fingerprint scanners, so customers who wish to use the payment service will need to use PIN codes. Probably, we are talking about the Galaxy J models of the current generation.

The source claims that Samsung will evaluate the results of such an experiment to check whether it is worth repeating it in other markets.
