HTC plans to launch the season of Christmas sales in 2017 VR-their mobile devices, as well as the second generation of compact portable camera for self-portraits Re Camera. This was stated by the head of the business of smartphones and connected devices Taiwan's Chan Chia-Lin (Chang Chia-Lin).

Mr. Chia-Lin told the Economic Daily News (EDN) during the MWC 2017 that HTC's mobile devices in the realm of virtual reality will differ from helmets like Samsung Gear VR or Google Daydream, which simply work in conjunction with a smartphone for Achieve VR-effect. And the next generation of Re Camera will provide a better environment along with support 3D- and AR-applications.

Meanwhile, on March 9 in Taipei, HTC will hold its first conference for the VR-developer, which aims to increase the number of VR-content and expanding ecosystem helmet HTC Vive.

The event, according to the Taiwanese company, is designed to be a platform where developers can share their views on the development of VR-technologies, as well as share resources and expertise needed in the creation of VR-projects.

According to market research firm SuperData Research, in 2016, HTC was able to put on the market about 420 000 of their helmets Vive virtual reality. For the new technology and the relatively high cost of the solution is a good result. Certainly this year the company will try to build on their success.
