Kiyan’s attacker commented on the difficult victory over “Veres”, confirmed his readiness to take on his reputation and admitted that he was aiming at the historic bombing achievement of the UPL.

Dynamo Kiev forward Matviy Ponomarenko became one of the main heroes in the match against Rivnensky Veres (2:1). After playing on the UPL TB broadcast, the young forward shared his enemies about the difficult departure, spoke about his penalty conversion and voiced extremely ambitious plans for the current season.

Ponomarenko recognized that victory was not easy for the team, and Veres traditionally forces a fierce fight on his field. Matches in Rivne are always difficult for us - count on minimal victories, but as if it was nothing.

" Of course, we can’t serve the truth, but we only had a few important days on the road, and even though we played the previous match just a few days ago. Golovne - this is a victory and three halls of victory. I respect that in the future we will progress and show a timely brightness,” the forward said.

Coming on as a substitute, Matvy gave clear instructions to the coaching staff: force the fight in the attack and obligingly help the team score a goal. These tasks were taken seriously. Ponomarenko himself took credit for winning the penalty kick, which became the key episode of the game.

" Knowing what I’ll forget. The boys said good luck and said to trust me. Having recovered from the squeeze and converted the penalty,” the promising attacker.

In response to the question about the priorities between the championship and the European Cups, Matvey added that Dynamo does not care about other tournaments, especially after the results of the last campaign.

" Tim, moreover, last season we finished fourth in the UPL, so we now have to fight exclusively for gold medals. I’m guessing we won’t be able to get the championship trophy back to Kiev. There is no need for marriage, all the boys give in for a hundred hundred rubles,” said Matviy.

Finally, the forward greeted journalists with his special message for the season. Ponomarenko stated that he intends to set the historical record for the performance of Ukrainian championships, established back in the 2012/13 season.

“I want to break Mkhitaryan’s record, but there’s more to come,” summed up the ambitious dynamist.

Guess what, Henrikh Mkhitaryan holds the absolute UPL record for the number of goals scored during one championship - 25 goals.
