According to the defense lawyer, part of the amount was paid by Tishchenko himself, the rest was contributed by a third party, whose name he did not disclose.

The lawyer also said that the defense has not yet decided whether to appeal the preventive measure, since the defense received the full text of the HACC decision only the previous afternoon.

At the end of June, NABU and SAPO informed Nikolai Tishchenko of suspicion of extortion of illegal benefits, legalization of property obtained by criminal means, and entering false information into the declaration. According to investigators, in 2023, the deputy extorted more than $1 million from a person whom he considered involved in the work of call centers. In return, he promised not to interfere with the activities of some such centers and influence the work of their competitors. A separate episode concerns the legalization of 12.6 million UAH, which, according to detectives, was registered as a gift from an ex-wife and subsequently included in the declaration.

On July 3, the High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for Tishchenko in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 10 million, refusing to keep the prosecution in custody. The court also ordered the deputy to wear an electronic bracelet, submit documents for traveling abroad, not leave Kyiv without permission and refrain from communicating with witnesses.
