Military Ombudsman of Ukraine Olga Reshetilova, commenting on the incident between civilians and TCC employees in Lviv, emphasized that responsibility primarily lies with the government, military-political leadership and local authorities, who over the years have not been able to find a balance between the needs of the economy and the army. On her Facebook page, she addressed the military personnel and noted that it is difficult for her to imagine how painful it is for them to see such footage. Reshetilova apologized and stressed that there is no excuse for this.

“Today I will again receive dozens of invitations to broadcasts, requests for comments and interviews. Journalists and bloggers, who for months first of all asked me about the “crimes of the TCC”, will today ask how it happened that civilians are attacking the military, and who is responsible for this. I will not go to any such interview. In general, for the last year I have been refusing all journalists who see problems only in the violation of the rights of draft dodgers and do not see several million military personnel and members of their families - those who endure our state, often unnoticed and silently, who cannot shout over the crowd of parasites,” Reshetilova wrote.

She also emphasized that the mobilization reform needs to begin with a complete revision of the reservation rules. Separately, she noted that such changes require not only political will and a strong team of officials, but also public support, which is currently lacking.

Reshetilova also sharply criticized politicians and officials who are trying to gain popularity on the topic of mobilization, and said that everyone knows very well who they are talking about.

“But I would also like to see some kind of self-reflection on the part of the media, bloggers, influencers. Don’t you feel the least bit of your own responsibility for the skew of the information space towards the interests of people who do not serve in the army Do you understand what is the result of whipping up hatred towards the TCC, the police, people carrying out mobilization activities, without which we will very soon see the enemy on the threshold of our homes? Yes, even on Sykhov,” added Reshetilova.

In conclusion, the military ombudsman added that there are much more people who are grateful to the military for their service and understand the price that they and their families pay for the lives of others. She emphasized that these people are nearby.

Let us remind you that on Wednesday, July 8, a large-scale conflict occurred in Lviv due to the detention of a man by TCC employees. The video of eyewitnesses shows that dozens of people gathered on Sykhov and overturned a TCC car while shouting “Shame.”. The press secretary of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region, Alina Podreiko, in a comment to Suspilny, said that during the notification of citizens about the mobilization, a man born in 1996 was discovered. According to her, since June 12 he was wanted for evading military service..
