Yesterday, Bulgarian Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said that his country plans to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.. He called on Kyiv and Moscow for a “just world,” adding that “Ukraine needs more people, not more weapons.”. In response to this, the speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Georgy Tikhy, explained that our country does not receive free military assistance from Bulgaria - on defense issues, states cooperate on a commercial basis.

This cooperation is mutually beneficial for Ukraine and Bulgaria: thanks to it, Kyiv receives weapons, and Sofia is an opportunity for local defense companies to scale up production and make money on it.

“We are grateful to Bulgaria for the fact that such projects are possible, we value cooperation with their defense companies,” Tikhy noted, adding that such interaction contributes to faster achievement of success. “The stronger Ukraine is, the more resources Ukraine has, the more strength it has, the faster peace will come.”.
