The American consortium Underdog Global Partners has been trying to recruit Napoli and has been negotiating for several months with the club's president, Aurelio De Laurentiis..

According to The Athletic, the Neapolitan ruler was not initially planning to sell the club, but UGP representatives continued to reconsider for almost six months.

The consortium is already active in Italian sports. UGP is the majority owner of the Campobasso football club from the third division of Italy, as well as adding a controlling stake in the Napoli basketball club.

Investors plan to create a multi-sports structure that will include the Napoli football and basketball clubs. In addition, UGP intends to apply for participation in the upcoming European Basketball League under the NBA, which will launch in 2027.

The American group's proposal includes significant investments in infrastructure, including modernization and privatization of the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Now the Dzherelo means that the negotiations will involve a number of essential foods, although the consortium is willing to resume an active dialogue with De Laurentiis.
