In Ukraine, parents are required to support their children until they reach adulthood and, if necessary, pay child support. But some ignore this duty. In this case, temporary state assistance may be assigned to children whose parents do not pay child support.. The Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) in the Donetsk region told how to process such payments.

Who can get help.
The Pension Fund explained that temporary assistance for a child under 18 years of age is provided if one of the parents:.
doesn't pay child support;
cannot support a child;
or his whereabouts are unknown.
The Fund added that the parent with whom the child lives receives assistance.. Reasons for appointment (one is enough):.
have alimony debt;
father/mother in prison, on treatment, in service or on the wanted list;
location unknown.
What is the amount of payments for children whose parents do not pay child support?.
The PFU noted that the amount of temporary state assistance for children whose parents do not pay depends on the family income, but not less than 50% of the subsistence level for a child of the corresponding age:.
for children under six years old - 2,817 UAH;
for children from six to 18 years old - 3,512 UAH.
How to apply for help.
To obtain state assistance for children whose parents do not pay child support, the following documents are required:.
statement;
copy of the child's birth certificate;
applicant's passport;
income certificate;
if necessary, additional documents (court decision, certificates, messages).
You can submit documents in the following ways:.
at the PFU or TsPAU service center;
through the local council;
by mail or online (“Diya”).
Help is provided for six months.
