“A man of strong will and action”: Maxim Vorontsov, a defender from the Dnepropetrovsk region, died in the war

In Zheltye Vody in the Dnepropetrovsk region they said goodbye to defender Maxim Vorontsov. He was the commander of a mortar platoon squad, fought with the occupiers in the Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions and died on March 19 as a result of an enemy drone attack.

A wife and two sons were waiting for the Hero at home. The loss was reported to the Zheltovodsk City Council.

Maxim Vorontsov was born on May 9, 1978 in the village of Krasny Yar in Bashkortostan. I lost my father when I was still young. Therefore, the family moved to Ukraine, the homeland of Maxim’s mother.

Maxim spent his youth in the Dnepropetrovsk region, in the village of Adamovka. There he graduated from school and continued his studies at Dnepropetrovsk Vocational School No. 12, where he learned to become an electric welder.. After military service, in 1999 Maxim got married and with his wife moved to Zheltye Vody. “He worked as a high-altitude assembler at the Severny Mining and Processing Plant, and later at the Service Montazh company.”. In 2014, he started his own business, collecting metal structures for the construction of supermarkets and warehouses,” said the Zheltovodsk City Council.

On January 24, 2023, Maxim joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He began his military service as a mortar platoon driver and later became a squad commander..

The soldier defended Ukraine, repelling the invaders in the Donetsk region, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk region. “For exceptional courage, heroism, leadership and saved lives, he was awarded the medal “Knight’s Cross” and “Combat Participant”, the badge “For Saving Life”, distinctions and commendations from the command of the 23rd Infantry Brigade. During his military service he received 10 concussions and a wound in the shoulder.. And every time I returned to the front line to my brothers-in-arms because I couldn’t do otherwise,” they say in the Zhelti Vody City Council.

On March 19, a military man was transporting his brothers-in-arms to a combat position near Velikomikhailovka, Sinelnikovsky district, Dnepropetrovsk region. The car attacked an enemy FPV drone. Waiting for the Hero at home were his wife Lyudmila, sons Andrei and Damir, as well as sisters Snezhana, Irina and Tatyana. We said goodbye forever to the 47-year-old warrior on March 28.
