On Saturday, February 21, the biathlon tournament of the XXV Olympic Winter Games ended. As at the previous Olympics, 11 sets of medals in this sport were played in Italy: five for men, five for women and one in mixed discipline.
The 2026 Olympic Games biathlon competitions were held in Anterselva, at the Anterselva Biathlon Arena, located in South Tyrol in northern Italy.. This is one of the most famous biathlon complexes in the world, regularly hosting World Cup stages and international championships.. The route is located at an altitude of about 1600 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest in the calendar.
Altitude and difficult terrain traditionally affect racing in Anterselva. The course combines long climbs, sharp descents and technically challenging flat sections, and thin air makes recovery and work on the range difficult. That is why this stadium is considered one of the most demanding in biathlon, and the factor of physical readiness and accurate shooting is especially important here.
The broadcaster of the tournament in Ukraine is “Suspilne Sport”: all competitions are shown live on regional channels. Broadcasts races and Eurosport, included in the “Optimal” subscription of the Megogo media service.
Since 2026, the Eurosport Player service no longer exists as a separate application: all of its functionality has been transferred to the Max platform (formerly HBO Max), which officially operates in Ukraine.
