After a tough conversation within the framework of the conciliation council with relevant officials, a result was achieved - pensions for IDPs and social payments were unblocked.
This was announced by the co-chairman of the European Solidarity faction Irina Gerashchenko.
“Today, at the request of the opposition factions, European Solidarity, Vice Speaker Elena Kondratyuk, as part of the conciliation, we had a tough conversation with the Minister of Social Policy Denis Ulyutin and the head of the Pension Fund regarding the outrageous situation with the payment of pensions to IDPs. The government, by its resolution, forced all higher education institutions to be verified in order to avoid abuse and receipt of pensions from the Russian Federation (although it is obvious that from the occupied territories some citizens can give false information about themselves via video conference),” Gerashchenko noted.
She told what was happening at the Pension Fund after the administration of social payments was transferred to it.
“And the government transferred the administration of payments from social workers of the Ministry of Social Security vertical to the Pension Fund, where there simply are not enough people and qualifications to process such a massive amount of paperwork! As a result, more than 300 thousand pensioners were left without payments in January, and mothers of young children and large families also have problems with payments,” the deputy recalled.
" But why create new problems for the most disadvantaged categories of the population?! What kind of verification is there in Dii, when many pensioners have push-button phones?! But it’s very difficult for bedridden and elderly people to come in person, plus it’s hell right now in the Pension Fund branches,” states Irina Gerashchenko.
“All these questions with Nina Bzhanina and other colleagues were put to the government today. We have a result – pensions are unblocked,” said Gerashchenko.
According to the co-chairman of Eurosolidarity, until today, by Resolution No. 299, the payment of: disability pensions was suspended;
pensions in connection with the loss of a breadwinner (including children of deceased military personnel);
old age pensions;
long service pensions; insurance payments for insurance against industrial accidents and occupational diseases;
monthly lifetime allowance.
“Thanks to the prompt reaction of the Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets and the opposition, these payments are now unblocked. Our team will strengthen parliamentary control over the government’s activities, we see that this is producing results,” notes Irina Gerashchenko.
