Sunday, February 2, marks 11 years since the tragic death of the legendary Ukrainian musician Andrey Kuzmenko (Kuzma Scriabin). The artist died in an accident while returning from a performance in Krivoy Rog to Kyiv. His car collided with a milk tanker, and the 46-year-old musician died on the spot from his injuries..

Maria Barbara is the daughter of Andrei Kuzmenko and his wife Svetlana Babiychuk. Today she is 28 years old. She lives in Kyiv, works as a dermatologist, cosmetologist and trichologist, has a private practice and continues her professional path, far from show business..

“I started having teenage skin problems very early, I was only nine years old. Everything my parents did, but they couldn’t recover. Unfortunately, we were not destined to find doctors at that time who could help me,” said Barbara Kuzmenko. – And then dad found a doctor in Prague who worked at the department of dermatology in one of the research institutes. And we started visiting her. She treated me exclusively according to international protocols, guided by the principles of evidence-based medicine. And at the age of 17 I managed to forget about my problem. That same year I entered medical school to become a dermatologist." The daughter’s dream became something special for Kuzma himself. " When I told him that I also dream of becoming a doctor, he answered me: “This is very important,” the girl recalled.

Maria Barbara is married to Victor Tur, whom she met on social networks, although they studied at the same university. The couple have been together since 2019.

Barbara is not yet thinking about her own motherhood because of the war.

A special place in Barbara’s life is occupied by a coffee shop-bakery in Kyiv, the opening of which became the embodiment of Kuzma Scriabin’s long-time dream. The establishment operates under the Lviv Croissants franchise near the Polytechnic Institute metro station..

On the walls of the cafe there are photographs of Kuzma Scriabin and quotes from his songs, in particular the composition “Mist of Happy People”. Barbara notes that both local residents and fans of the musician often come here, which makes her and her family very happy.

Barbara keeps the memory of her father through family albums and gifts that he made as a child: “Collections of Lego construction sets (at one time I was very fond of this). I also have perfume that he once gave me. I opened the bottle, but I don’t use it - I keep it as a memory. He bought me a lot of things without me, on his own, and always got it right - both in terms of preferences and size."

She also talked about joint family travel: trips to the Maldives, Italy, alpine skiing even on “black” slopes - difficult routes for experienced skiers.
