Ajax, Arsenal and Oleksandr Zinchenko reached the point of direct transfer of the Ukrainian grave to the Amsterdam club. The 29-year-old footballer will sign a contract until the end of the 2025/26 season, which is until 30 June 2026.
The Ajax press service announced that Zinchenko will be number 47, although he would have previously been numbered 17 and 35. The Ukrainian all-rounder has already said goodbye to Arsenal fans and is ready to help the new team in the fight for the Champions League.
For the first part of the 2025/26 season, Zinchenko was on loan at Nottingham Forest, playing 10 matches, but without any effective performances.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal charges the Ukrainian 1.5 million euros for the transfer. Initial negotiations resulted in a possible lease until the end of the season, and the transfer was made on a full-time basis..
Ajax director of football nutrition Marein Booker said: “With Oleksandr we have signed an accomplished citizen who will immediately paint the warehouse. He is a tactically strong left defender, adds stability in defense and ideally suits our style of play.
For Zinchenok, the first club outside England since 2017. In the 2016/17 season, he played in the Dutch Eredivisie for PSV on loan from Manchester City.
Ajax currently sits in fourth place in the Dutch championship standings, 18 points ahead of leader PSV.
