Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick commented on the victory over Arsenal in the 23rd round of the Premier League (3:2). The coach is confident that the success of the team is due to the character of the players and their ability to compete against their opponents.
" There were moments when it was necessary to defend - there was a rush to steal the penalty box, and it was difficult for an hour, but I was thinking that we could score,” Carrick told Sky Sports.
He also said that it is not easy to find the ideal team, since he trains the team for only 10 days:.
“We have barely started, only 10 days have passed, and we understand that it will not be ideal. The whole thing is the cob, the right point, but we need to add new elements to our game in the near future."
Carrick noted that the victory over the Londoners was sparked by the previous match against Manchester City:.
" I think this game was played out from last year - two completely different matches. Today it’s not enough to sing otherwise. Supernik put a tight squeeze on us in different ways"
“Perhaps today we did not have such a constant and obvious threat from strangers’ thieves throughout the entire game as last year, but at times we looked truly unsafe. To come here and score three goals in this style is great. Progress 0:1, win, then take the blow back again and still continue to move forward - this will be a great moment for us,” the coach added.
After this match, Manchester United rose to fourth place in the Premier League standings, gaining 38 points.
