Transcarpathian footballer and coach Yuriy Chonka died at the age of 35. The Transcarpathian Football Association and the press service of FC Sevlyush inform you about this.

“We have learned of an important and painful loss - our football player Yuriy Chonka has learned from life. We will forever lose the memory of being a talented player and a true fighter on the field,” said on the Facebook page of FC Sevlyush.

Yuriy Chonka played for Metalist, Beregvideyk, Uzhgorod and Sevlyush. He also worked as the coach of the youth team of Vinograd Sevlyush.

In 2011, Chonka signed a five-year contract with Metalist and played one match for the main warehouse - in the Ukrainian Cup against Beregvideyka. In the 2020/21 season, Uzhgorod took another place in Group A of the Other League, scoring five goals and six assists.
