Last year, the online wedding service “єShlyub” was launched in Ukraine in the “Diya” application.. There are currently three digital offices in operation. In Lviv, five halls can simultaneously hold wedding ceremonies, in Dnipro - 10 and in Kyiv - 13 halls. More than 300 registrations of “єShlyuba” can be carried out every day, said Deputy Minister of Justice for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Olga Ryabukha in an interview with the editor of the ZN society department. According to her, thanks to the online services of the Ministry of Justice, as of December this year, 26,231 couples have already gotten married.

When submitting an application, information about tax numbers and passports of couples is automatically checked;
Several questions are clarified regarding the choice of a surname after marriage, the address where the marriage certificate will need to be sent;

State registrars working in digital offices are processing this application;
videoconference " The wedding ceremony is conducted by specially invited presenters and employees of the State Register of Civil Status Acts, who are behind the scenes and check the application, digital signatures and whether this particular couple is online. Workers compare the newlyweds' digital facial expressions with biometric information;
the state registrar finalizes the marriage record and prints out the certificate, which is sent by mail to the spouses at a pre-specified address.
The Deputy Minister of Justice noted that witnesses are not present at the online marriage ceremony, only the newlyweds.
" And we don’t need witnesses as such,” Ryabukha emphasized.
