The museum of Ivan Gonchara opened the exhibition project “Enched on the Spadeshchy”, which through the reproduction of traditional clothing tells about the cultural identity of the regions of Ukraine, which are now under temporary occupation. The exhibition is designed to preserve the memory of a unique heritage that the enemy is trying to destroy or replace.
The project combines the reconstruction of folk clothing, created on the basis of historical sources, archival pictures and oral evidence collected before the war. Dozens of specialists worked on the exposition - from ethnographers and museum workers to the craftsmen of embroidery, cut, weaving and making traditional jewelry. Their work has become a form of resistance to cultural depersonalization, to which Russia resorts, sequentially destroying Ukrainian monuments in the occupied territories.

Due to the impossibility of access to these regions, there is still no accurate information about the scale of destruction. But the loss of cultural heritage is not only physical damage, but also an attempt to erase a collective memory. The exhibition, in this context, becomes an answer - a symbol of internal stability, respect for its own roots and the right to the future.
