Since the beginning of a full -scale war, Ukraine has lost 100 rescuers who died in the performance of their duties. In addition, 430 employees of the State Emergencies Ministry were injured. Many of them are sappers that received mine-explosive injuries. Recovery after such wounds is complex, long -term and expensive. Some wounded were treated abroad. About this in an interview with Ukrinform was told by the head of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations Andrei Danik.

According to him, since the beginning of a full -scale war, 538 rescuers of the State Emergencies Ministry volunteered to serve in combat units and protect Ukraine with weapons in their hands. At the same time, four rescuers remain in Russian captivity, another is considered missing. Two employees managed to return.

Despite injuries, rescuers seek to return to the service. Those who cannot continue service in military units get the opportunity to work in educational institutions, training centers or administrative positions. Their experience is a valuable personnel reserve for the training of future specialists.

The State Emergencies Ministry supports the families of the dead rescuers through a special department leading planned and systemic work. The department also has a psychological service that supports both rescuers and their families. Particular attention is paid to sapper units that suffered the greatest losses.

As a result of shelling, according to Danika, 29 buildings of the State Emergencies Ministry were destroyed, another 382 were damaged. In addition, 96 units are in the occupied territories, and their condition is unknown. All damaged fire parts in the territory controlled by Ukraine have already been restored. There are also cooperation with international partners to further restore infrastructure.
