Ukrainian biathlonists will not take part in a mixed relay at the XVII Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (Euof) 2025. The reason for this decision was the disease of several athletes, due to which the team will not be able to fully perform in the race.

According to the coach of the Ukrainian national team Alexander Bilanenko, three biathlonists felt malaise, they had a temperature.

" It is important to maintain their health and a sports future, ”said a specialist in a commentary by the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

The male team of Ukraine on Eyof-2025 is represented by Taras Tarasuk, Ivan Zagoruyko, Yaroslav Garkush and Konstantin Martsenyuk. Now the team will miss this type of program so as not to be healthy athletes at risk.

Recall that our country sent a delegation of 48 athletes to Eyof-2025, who perform in seven out of eight sports at the festival. Competitions are held from February 9 to 16 in three cities of Georgia - Tbilisi, Batumi and Bakuriani.

Recall that at the previous Winter European Youth of the Olympic Festival, which took place in Italy, Ukrainian athletes won three medals, taking 15th place in the team event. In the summer-2023 summer in Slovenia, the Ukrainian team won 12 awards, which allowed her to take the 23rd position in the overall standings.

Before the final competitive day, Ukraine shares fourth place with Great Britain in the team -wrapped medal standings.
