The gas crisis in Ukraine is exacerbated against the backdrop of the rapid increase in prices in Europe and the opaque policy of Naftogaz. According to experts, the state monopolist, instead of strategic accumulation of resources, took up commercial sales, which led to problems with gas reserves.

Economist and financial analyst Alexei Kushch on the air of the direct television channel noted that in the summer it was possible to buy gas somewhere for $ 300 in the European market, and now the price has risen to 600, that is, almost 100%.

According to him, Naftogaz, although it provides the population and enterprises with the heat and community gas in the framework of a special pricing regime, still began to enter the commercial market more actively last year.

“But for some reason, Naftogaz actively went to the commercial market last year, began to sell natural gas to enterprises, private enterprises, that is, he went to commerce, and often sold this gas at a price below the imported resource,” Kushch said.
