Our eyes are subjected to a large number of external influences every day, especially in the conditions of the modern world, where we spend a lot of time behind the screens. Work at the computer, watching TV or reading - all this affects the vision. But few people know that malnutrition can become one of the reasons for the deterioration of visual acuity. However, with the right approach to the diet, you can not only slow down this process, but also significantly improve the health of the eyes.

From improper nutrition, the eyes suffer no less than from other factors, for example, heredity. Ophthalmologists claim that the food that we consume has a serious effect on vision. This is especially true in the light of the fact that many people do not think about how their daily choice of products affects the health of the eyes.

Products that primarily have a negative effect on the figure bring the main harm to vision. This includes white bread, pasta, fatty meat products, smoked meats and canned foods, as well as sweets, sugar, carbonated drinks and coffee. By excluding these harmful products from the diet, you can not only improve vision, but also achieve other positive changes in health.

On the contrary, there are many products that contribute to improving vision. These are vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, carrots and spinach. Avocado, Bulgarian pepper, pumpkin and tomatoes are also useful. Fruits should pay attention to citrus fruits, kiwi, mango, persimmon and red grapes. It is also important to add whole grains, nuts, seeds, eggs and fish, rich omega-3 fatty acids to the diet.

To make vision normal, our body needs certain vitamins and trace elements. Carotinoid lutein, which helps protect the retina, is found in dark green leafy vegetables and berries. Zinc, necessary for the normal operation of the eye retina, can be found in seeds, walnuts, beans and seafood. Omega-3 fatty acids that prevent dry eyes are present in fish, nuts and seeds. Vitamins A, E and C protect against cataracts, strengthen the capillaries and help adapt their vision to darkness.

To maintain good vision, it is important to observe the correct diet, including a variety of vegetables and fruits. At the same time, it is worth remembering that the color of food matters - the brighter the vegetable or fruit, the more useful substances it contains for the eyes. Light heat treatment helps to absorb lutein, but do not expose products of excessive heat treatment in order to maintain their benefits.

And finally, to maintain vision, the correct drinking regime is important. Every day you need to drink at least 4-6 glasses of water, as well as freshly squeezed juices. Water moisturizes the eyes and helps to avoid their dryness, and drinks with caffeine, on the contrary, can cause irritation. It is important to remember that compliance with proper nutrition for the eyes is not a temporary measure, but a necessary condition for maintaining good vision throughout life.
