In Ukraine, the cost of the onion is fixed. Farmers hoped for rising prices and refrained from the sale of vegetables last week, but they were forced to return to active sales of available reserves. This was reported by the analytical platform Eastfruit.

Now the vacation value of this vegetable has decreased by another 12% compared to last week and much lower than during this period last year.

Onions are now sold at a price of 8 to 14 UAH/kg, depending on the quality and volume of the batch. This is 20% less than in early February 2024.

At the same time, farmers who have high -quality products decided to suspend sales and plan to resume them no earlier than March, experts say.

Focus conducted his own monitoring of onions in large retail chains. On average, it costs 13.06 UAH/kg.

Now in supermarkets, prices vary from 9.90 to 14.20 UAH/kg:.

Recall that the Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denis Marschuk believes that during 2025, bread prices can grow monthly within 1.5-2%.
