The North Atlantic Alliance should increase the military presence in Greenland. This is due to climate changes - global warming opens up new shipping routes to which China and Russia show great interest.

This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Sholts in an interview with RND. He was asked about the ambitions of US President Donald Trump to buy or other way to get an island belonging to Denmark.

The journalist indicated that the United States is part of the North Atlantic Alliance. \? "

Scholz replied that the West supports Ukraine because the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin with his aggressive war violated the important principle of a European peace order: the borders cannot be moved by force.

" By the way: climate change changes the Arctic region, opening new shipping paths to which China and Russia show great interest. Therefore, there are legal security issues that we need to discuss with each other within the framework of NATO. In my opinion, we should increase the presence of NATO in Greenland, ”the Chancellor of Germany expressed his opinion.
