The system of continuous professional development and certification of specialists in the field of mental health is introduced in Ukraine. Now all psychologists and psychotherapists will be required to have higher education and pass certification.
The corresponding bill No. 4223-IX was signed by President Vladimir Zelensky on February 6. The Verkhovna Rada supported the draft law in the second reading on January 15, now he has returned with the signature of the head.

Among other things, the law pays special attention to the protection of mental health at workplaces. Also, employers are invited to create psychosocial support programs for employees.
One of the most important points provided for by law is the introduction of a system of continuous professional development and certification of specialists in the field of mental health. Thus, the document provides for uniform certification standards in the professional areas of the work of psychologists (in the National Commission) and certification of psychotherapists with self -regulating organizations (SRO) having international recognition.
Each Ukrainian will have a guarantee that he addresses this specialist, and experts, in turn, will be able to receive official recognition.
