The SBU, together with the National Police, prevented the attack on Bukovina, detaining two agents of the Russian Federation who planned to undermine the police outfit. They planned to lure law enforcement officers into a trap, making a fake call to line 102. This was reported by the SBU on Tuesday, February 4.

Attackers laid a homemade explosive device in an abandoned building in the Vizhnitsky district. Explosives filled with self -tapping screws were hidden in a garbage bag, and a mobile phone with a camera was left nearby to control the moment the police officers entered.

SBU detained both performers after they installed explosives and returned home. They turned out to be two local drug dealers 17 and 18 years old, who were recruited through pro-Russian Telegram channels. From Russian curators, attackers received instructions for the manufacture of explosives and the coordinates of its placement.

The defendants were informed of suspicion of explosive devices and attempts on a terrorist attack.

They are currently in custody, they are facing up to 12 years of imprisonment with property confiscation.
