However, you do not need to panic, since the animal needs to eat an excessive amount of citrus fruits so that such a serious reaction arises.

According to Eliza O'Challagan, a veterinarian Small Door Veterinary, orange peel and seeds contain a greater concentration of harmful substances, but the flesh of the fruit is much safer.

“However, it is better not to give oranges to cats, since their digestive system is not very well adapted to citrus,” an experienced expert advises.

According to the veterinarian, cats do not need to consume food containing vitamin C, or take it in the form of additives. Their liver produces a sufficient amount of this vitamin, which corresponds to a daily need.

If the cat eaten an orange, then pay attention to symptoms such as salivation, vomiting, diarrhea or general discomfort.

" If your cat has such symptoms, it is worth consulting with the veterinarian, ”O'Callakhan assures.
