In Germany, the number of attacks on refugee shelters increased

In Germany, over the past year, compared to the previous one, the number of attacks on refugees shelters has increased significantly. This was reported by Spiegel with reference to the response of the Federal Ministry of the Interior to the request of the Left Party faction in the Bundestag.

So in 2024 in Germany, 218 politically motivated attacks on refugees were recorded in Germany. In 2023, this indicator was 167 cases.

28 attacks last year were violent crimes. According to the Ministry of the Interior, 14 people were injured, among them a child.

Meanwhile, the number of politically motivated crimes against refugees living in no shelters has somewhat reduced. By the end of the year, the authorities registered 1905 crimes, 237 of which are violent. In 2023 there were 2450.

Recall that in Germany, a Ukrainian died in a shelter for refugees. A seriously wounded man was found in Rostock. After a while, a 46-year-old man died.

Germany in one of the districts in Thuringia introduced an experiment that provided for the involvement of refugees to mandatory work. The authorities called him successful. Refugees were obliged to carry out public work for 80 cents per hour. For those who refused to work, they halved payments.
