A flash of bird flu was recorded in the Lviv region, as a result of which dozens of swans have already died. Mass mor of birds is observed in the floods of the Western Bug between the villages of Volsvin, Bendyug and the city of Sheptitsky.

In connection with the outbreak of bird flu, quarantine restrictions were introduced in some settlements. This was announced by the head of the Lviv regional military administration Maxim Kozitsky.

Biomaterial was selected from the dead birds for research. In one of them, an RNA-containing influenza virus was found. In this regard, the State Extraordinary Enopizootical Commission under the Sheptitsky District Administration decided to introduce quarantine in the coastal territory of the floodplain of the West Bug river.

The threatening zone was determined within a radius of 3 kilometers, which includes settlements of Bendyugi and Volswin. According to preliminary data, quarantine restrictions will last about three weeks.

Local residents warned that during this period, experts would supervise birds both on farms and in personal farms in the surveillance zone with a radius of at least 10 kilometers. In particular, they will be carried out by the courtyard to identify the dead bird and conduct explanatory work among the population on the prevention of bird flu.

Recall that in Louisiana (USA), the first death was recorded from bird flu H5N1. The patient was over 65 and had concomitant diseases. According to preliminary data, the patient was infected with the H5N1 virus after contact with a flock of birds in the backyard and wild birds.
