Zelensky and Macron discussed possible security guarantees for Ukraine

Presidents of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and France Emmanuel Macron held a meeting in Poland after participating in a ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Aushvitz-Birkenu. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian president.

The head of Ukraine expressed gratitude to his French colleague for the significant support that France has been provided by since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia. The total amount of defense assistance provided by France is 6 billion euros.

During the negotiations, the leaders focused on the possibilities of further strengthening the defense capabilities of Ukraine with the participation of France. These steps are aimed at strengthening the positions of Ukraine in the struggle for a fair and long world.

Special attention was paid to cooperation between security, in particular, discussing security guarantees for both Ukraine and the European region as a whole.

Zelensky also emphasized the importance of supporting France and personally Emmanuel Macron in the negotiation process to join Ukraine into the European Union.

It should be noted that in an interview with the Italian journalist of Chechilia Sali for Il Foglio, Vladimir Zelensky said that security guarantees following the example of Israel, when the country receives a comprehensive financial, political and military support from the United States and their allies, could be a good option.
