Ukrainian MP David Arakhamia took one of the places of honor in the Capitol rotunda during the inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20, 2025. The Independent writes about this.
Fears that the 47th US president may withdraw support for Ukraine are misguided, insiders say..
Despite the fact that Vladimir Zelensky himself did not attend the historical event on January 20, the head of the French Servant of the People David Arakhamia appeared at the event.
“Zelensky didn’t feel he could go to the inauguration himself, but he sent his number two, who was treated with great respect,” the source notes..
According to the publication, Arakhamia received a place of honor in the Capitol rotunda during Trump's second inauguration. After that, the people's deputy told the media that he now expects that the next month the official Ukrainian delegation will meet with the US President.
Arakhamia was one of the few foreign dignitaries allowed into the building when the ceremony was held for the first time in years due to sub-zero indoor temperatures. Among others are the former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Italy Prime Minister Georgia Melony.
Earlier, David Arahamia appeared at the Stars and Stripes Union Jack party before the inauguration. This event was organized by Jerry Ganster, Andy Wigmore and Arron Banks, who have close ties to the administration of the 47th President of the United States.
“Those who are worried about Ukraine should pay attention to Arakhamia’s presence at the inauguration. It was a very important step and shows Donald Trump's intention to ensure that Ukraine receives a good deal at the end of this process. This should calm the nerves a little,” the publication’s insiders said.
An official meeting of Ukrainian and American presidents should be held in the near future. According to the publication, Trump plans to end the war by the spring of 2025.
