Carrot prices resumed rising in Ukraine this week. This situation is due to the high demand for high-quality carrots and its limited supply.. Wholesale companies and retail chains are actively purchasing these products, while carrot stocks in farm storage facilities are rapidly declining. This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.
So, as of January 22, the manufacturers of carrots amounted to 25-33 UAH/kg ($ 0.59-0.78/kg), which is on average 10% more than at the end of last week.

Experts explain the increase in prices by a rapid reduction in the offer in local farms.
“Many farmers have already managed to fully sell the inherent products, when most other large farms are shipping exclusively according to previously concluded contracts,” the report said.
Analysts added that the rise in prices for carrots is not restrained even by the presence of significant volumes of Polish products on the market. At the same time, sellers state that the demand for imported carrots also remains very high.
It should be noted that now the price of quality carrots in Ukraine is already on average 2.4 times higher than a year ago. But some manufacturers plan to continue to increase prices while maintaining modern sales pace.
